Bracken County Highlights

Nestled against the Ohio River in Northern Kentucky, Bracken County harkens back to a simpler time. Founded in 1796, Bracken County, KY occupies 206 square miles of bluegrass beauty. An area with farming in its bones, agriculture is still one of the leading employment industries for the county’s 8,600 residents.

 

The county is home to the cities of Augusta, Brooksville (the county seat), and Germantown. Cincinnati, Lexington (both under 100 miles away), and Louisville (less than 150 miles away), are within driving distance of Bracken County, Kentucky.

Outdoor enthusiasts will feel right at home in Bracken County. The area boasts open spaces for hunting, horseback riding, fishing, and camping. With parks and hiking trails nearby, there are plenty of opportunities to get some fresh air.

 

The Bracken County Farmer’s Market in Augusta is the ideal place to spend an afternoon shopping for local produce, and the Augusta Ferry provides pleasant passage across the Ohio River.
